Providing Hope: The Mission of Ikhaya Lenjabulo Nonprofit Organization
Ikhaya Lenjabulo Nonprofit Organization was founded by Queen Busisiwe Semokwane in South Africa. This organization was established to provide a safe place for children and youth in the community who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The organization aims to create an environment where children can learn, grow and develop in a safe and nurturing environment. Queen Busisiwe Semokwane was inspired to start this organization due to her experiences growing up in two different communities. She witnessed firsthand the struggles that children from disadvantaged backgrounds faced, and she wanted to make a difference in her community. Queen Busisiwe Semokwane is a strong believer in God, and prayer is an integral part of the program at Ikhaya Lenjabulo Nonprofit Organization.
The program offered by Ikhaya Lenjabulo Nonprofit Organization includes various activities such as one on one sessions with children to understand their needs and challenges, homework help, gardening, developing a mini-library, girls and boys sessions, and lunch. Queen Busisiwe Semokwane also conducts home visits to understand the environment in which the children live.
However, running a nonprofit organization is not without its challenges. Queen Busisiwe Semokwane faced several difficulties in running the organization, including losing her job due to COVID-19 and losing partners who pulled out of the center. Nevertheless, Queen Busisiwe Semokwane’s parents stepped in to provide support to the organization, including physical support at the center.Working with children from different backgrounds is not an easy task, but Queen Busisiwe Semokwane believes that it is her responsibility to ensure that the children receive the best possible care. She ensures that the children are supported in their academic life, well-being, and psychological health. The organization provides a safe space where children can express themselves freely.
Despite the challenges faced, Queen Busisiwe Semokwane remains committed to the cause and believes that she is making a positive impact in her community. She believes that even if she falls, she must get up and fight back. She is grateful for the support of those who appreciate the work she does, and the safety offered by the community when the center is closed. Ikhaya Lenjabulo Nonprofit Organization is a testament to the impact that one person can make in their community.
