Lindokuhle Tricia Mathebula: A Creative Force in Fashion Crochet and Philanthropy

Lindokuhle Tricia Mathebula, a South African fashion crochet designer, socialite, and devoted mother, is making waves in the fashion industry with her brand Mkorosho (Pty) Ltd. Lindo, as she is affectionately known, is not only a skilled and artistic crochet designer but also a compassionate philanthropist. With a passion for her craft and a deep love for her family, she has built a brand that embodies excellence, beauty, and a commitment to making a positive impact.

Educated at the University of Limpopo (Turfloop Campus), Lindo holds a BA qualification, which has provided her with a strong foundation for her creative pursuits. She possesses a natural talent for crocheting and has honed her skills over the years. Her creations are a testament to her artistic flair and meticulous attention to detail. Mkorosho, the name given to Lindo’s brand, encapsulates the essence of her work—a fusion of elegance and craftsmanship. She transforms raw yarn into remarkable collector’s items, showcasing her creativity, skill, and depth of artistry. Her long-term vision for the brand is to produce crocheted designs that are celebrated as outstanding works of creativity and profundity.

Driven by her desire for growth and success, Lindo aims to position Mkorosho as a prominent national and global brand. Through this expansion, she hopes to create job opportunities for many people, contributing to economic empowerment and upliftment. Lindo’s journey in the fashion industry began with her first radio interview on Ligwalagwala FM in March 2022, which opened doors for Mkorosho’s first fashion show experiences. Since then, the brand has collaborated with esteemed designers and organizations such as Catiele Designs, Charged Up, Kede Mkhabela, Nathi, Lifestyle Game Awards, and the Global African Fashion Coalition by Giga Guru. Lindo’s talent and dedication have gained recognition, and she has been invited to showcase Mkorosho in Swaziland in early July 2023—an exciting opportunity for further exposure and growth.

Beyond her creative endeavors, Lindo’s devotion to her family, particularly her two children, Sbusisokuhle and Slindokuhle, holds a special place in her heart. She embraces the values of unity and support, living by the motto “Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.” Mkorosho has embraced this ethos by dedicating itself to supporting infant children through annual donations of beanies. This year alone, Mkorosho has donated 240 beanies for premature and full-term babies, making a meaningful impact on the lives of these little ones. None of this would have been possible without the assistance of Lindo’s mother, Petunia Mndawe, whose support has been invaluable.

Looking ahead, Mkorosho is already preparing for next year’s donations, with hopes of surpassing the 240 beanies donated this year. Lindo’s passion for her craft, combined with her philanthropic efforts, exemplifies the power of using one’s talents to uplift others. As Lindokuhle Tricia Mathebula continues to leave her mark on the fashion industry, she inspires others with her creativity, compassion, and dedication to making a difference.
