Shining a Light on Tomorrow’s Stars: Celebrating Mandela Month, TM7’s Birthday, and the Launch of TM7 Foundation

On a bright and festive day, the community of Matsulu came together to celebrate three significant events – Mandela Month, the birthday of a local soccer enthusiast known as TM7, and the launch of the TM7 Foundation. This foundation was initiated with a noble mission – to nurture the stars of tomorrow by harnessing their natural talents and supporting them in their pursuit of sports excellence.

The event was filled with enthusiasm and a sense of unity as everyone gathered to support the cause. One of the guest speakers emphasized the crucial role parents play in encouraging and supporting their children wholeheartedly. It was stressed that giving 100% support, rather than 50/30%, can make all the difference in steering children towards a path of success and away from harmful influences such as drugs and crime.

Amidst the jubilation, the elderly members of the community were not forgotten. Their presence brought wisdom and warmth to the event. However, they also expressed their need for assistance and reached out to the attendees, reminding them that they, too, require help and care. The highlight of the event was the announcement made by Mpendulo Mkhabela, the chairman of Ehlanzeni United and director of Mkhabela Construction. He pledged R15,000 to support an old age center, demonstrating the spirit of giving and community involvement that the TM7 Foundation aims to promote.

The TM7 Foundation has a clear vision of providing a long-term development plan for young soccer players between the ages of 5 and 18. Through innovative methods and a positive environment, the foundation aims to change lives one step at a time, guiding young players towards a bright future in sports.

During the event, blankets were handed out to those in need, spreading warmth and comfort throughout the community. Siphiwe Mashego took the opportunity to explain the Foundation’s goals and introduced Theo Madonsela (TM7), whose birthday was being celebrated. The turnout was impressive, with TM7’s friends and family joining the festivities.

Tesia Madonsela, TM7’s sister, expressed her heartfelt wish for her brother to become a soccer star one day. Meanwhile, TM7’s close friend, Tsebo Mogane, thanked him for their friendship and acknowledged the positive impact it had on his life. TM7’s mother gave her blessings and declared her unwavering support for her son’s soccer journey, both emotionally and financially.

In a touching moment, it was revealed that the TM7 Foundation had plans to launch a soccer tournament for under-10 players, promising to bring positive change to the Matsulu community and its surroundings. The celebration included some remarkable performances. Qiniso Mabaso, a renowned gospel singer, and Nolwandle, a young girl with a passion for singing, both graced the stage, captivating the audience with their talent.

The event saw the gracious presence of esteemed individuals like Siphiwe Mashego, Vincent Mabuza (station manager of Ekasi FM), Veracity Mathebula (TM7’s mother), Mpendulo Mkhabela (Chairman of Ehlanzeni United), and Sthembiso Sambo (Sgcoko). The success of the event would not have been possible without the generous support of various sponsors, including Ehlanzeni United FC, Heartlines TVET College, Empfunweni Guest House, ISADI Sports Apparel, GoZone, eKasi FM, Mthunzi V Trading, and Silulumanzi.

As the festivities came to an end, Mr. Ngomane and Gogo Khuzwayo from the Qiniseka old age center expressed their gratitude and urged everyone to continue supporting their cause. Their heartfelt plea served as a reminder that compassion and care should extend to all members of the community. The day of celebration marked the beginning of the TM7 Foundation’s journey towards nurturing young talents and fostering positive change in the lives of children. With the support of the community, sponsors, and well-wishers, the foundation is poised to make a lasting impact, not only in the realm of sports but also in building a stronger and more united community. Through their collective efforts, the stars of tomorrow will shine brightly and inspire generations to come.
