Samson J Thobela, also known as “Samson the Artist,” is a professional gospel musician from Mpumalanga Province in South Africa. He has made a name for himself as a producer, composer, and songwriter in the gospel music industry. Samson’s musical talent was nurtured and honed under the mentorship of Archbishop Dr. V Gama, who he has been ministering with in his church since 2011. He was featured in several church albums and his anointed voice soon became a source of inspiration and motivation for many people.
Aside from his church background, Samson also served under his uncle Enock Mabuza Izikhova Ezimqini Zion Church. He was also one of the best students in choral music during his primary and secondary school days. This motivated his peers to stay away from substance abuse and focus on hobbies like soccer and music. Samson’s musical career took off in 2013 when he released his full album, “Kuzondlula,” which was a 16 track CD. He was also nominated for the best video in the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards (MGOMA) in 2018 and formed a group called Mighty Messengers, which was nominated for best newcomer in 2013.
In 2022, Samson was nominated for the Classic of All Times (Kuzondlula) and has attained an Opera Certificate and several trophies for his musical achievements. His hit song “Kuzondlula” remains relevant to this day and has cemented his place as a well-established producer, composer and songwriter.
He in now working towards his New Upcoming Album and has featured Qiniso Mabaso and Archbishop DR. V Gama. He is determined to work with other Artist across the African Continent and Nationally with the likes Bishop Benjamin Dube.
