Celebrating Art and Culture: Mqhawe Traditional Group’s Remarkable Event on December 2, 2023
On the 2nd of December 2023, the Kabokweni community Hall in Mbombela became a vibrant hub of creativity and talent as the Mqhawe Traditional Group hosted a spectacular event under the theme “Keep Mbombela Clean.” The community hall buzzed with enthusiasm and artistic energy, bringing together a diverse array of performances that left a lasting impact on attendees.

Under the category of drama, Creative Space, Bayeza Cultural Group, and Souls of Art mesmerized the audience with their thought-provoking and entertaining performances. The music category featured stellar acts such as Sihle Mashile and Smash and Grab, while the dance category saw captivating performances by CT Kabokweni Dance Group, Sivesonke Projects, and Maphikankani Cultural Group. The poetry segment was equally captivating with Suzan, Mbali, NGCI, and Mbhekeni Ngwenya, showcasing the power of words. Adding a touch of humor to the event, Muzi Khumalo and Bongane Piano Nkosi kept the audience in splits with their comedy acts.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presence and blessing of Mr. Johannes Msomi, the current Deputy President for CCIFSA, who graced the occasion with his roots deeply embedded in the Mqhawe Traditional Group. Having grown up under the influence of this group, Mr. Msomi expressed his pride in witnessing such a spectacular showcase of artistic talent in the community.
